Home HD
High definition is the way of the future. Whether you are looking at an HD home theater, HD home projector, HD television, or any other kind of HD experience, there is certainly research to be done when it comes to selecting the best brand and product. HD stands for High Definition. This essentially means better quality. You will have a better picture, crisper sound, and a generally more enjoyable entertainment experience. It can be expensive, however, with many HD systems coming in at thousands of dollars, well outside the price range of some consumers. High definition televisions are not always so expensive, and you can get a good quality HDTV for several hundred dollars.
While it won't give you the experience of an HD plasma tv, it's still a good buy if you don't have a lot of space or cash. The big guns in the HDTV department are plasma and LCD screens. There really isn't a right answer when it comes to choosing between the two. On the one hand, a plasma TV's lamp life isn't as great as normal televisions or LCD TVs. That said, an LCD TV can loose it's brightness and color over time. Both can be good choices, but you may need to do maintenance on them to see them last. A very important component of having home HD systems is what you are putting in.
You won't be getting the most out of your HD system if you don't have HD television service, a Blu-Ray player, or a home gaming console that is designed for HD. So ensure that you have a reason to own an HD system before you spend the money on it. Another important part of any HD setup is the audio that you are using. Home audio often gets swept under the rug, but it really is a great thing to have a nice audio setup. Great audio can draw you into your entertainment experience, from a great movie to a great game, it just makes everything come more alive. Finally, another thing you can consider is picking up an HD projector. The projector may not be as practical as a television, but it allows you to get a big picture and you don't have to have it set up all the time. It is also very easy to transport. In the end your decision on what kind of system to get really lies with what you need it to do. Some setups are better for gaming, some are better for movies.
If you like music then you may only need to worry about the audio, so it really depends on your personal tastes. Just make sure you do your homework!
